By Thandi Ng’oma 29/4/15

Two Malawi Police officers in Lilongwe didn’t mind the public in the capital City Lilongwe to engage in a lesbian sexual act.

The female police officers in their mid twenties were seen to be warming each other’s behind while holding hands fondly giggling.

Same sex practices are illegal in Malawi and offenders can face to a maximum of life in prison. In 2012 male partners who wedded publicly were slapped with a prison sentence under the archaic Laws of sodomy and homosexuality which penalise the sex acts as a criminal offence.

One of the surviving couple popularly known as auntie Tiwo is fled the country now living in South Africa where he was granted asylum status.

Banthu Times contacted Malawi Police Public relations officer for a comment but no one was available for a comment.
